Let’s be honest, no one likes to get a low GPA in college. If you do, you’ll feel like a failure and not only a failure to yourself but you’ll feel like you are letting down everyone that is rooting for you. That’s not good at all. Can you imagine to the look on your parents face when you tell them that you have a 1.7 GPA?

It’s a terrible feeling. How do I know?

Well in my first semester at college, my GPA was hovering 1.7. However, after my second semester it went up to 3.3 and continues to increase every semester thereafter. Awesome right?

Well if your GPA is on the low and you are looking for some effective tips to boost your grades, this post will share 3 tips that you can start using today to boost your grades.

    So let’s get started.

Tip #1 – Prep Everyday Like You Have An Exam

The reality of college is that you are training to pass an exam. You may not know it know but after a few years you’ll notice that college is training you to pass an test. Rarely do you ever use what you learn in college in the real world. The sooner you notice this, the sooner you’ll start focusing on your preparations.

So the first thing you need to do is the get as much copies of past exams as you can. These past exam papers will be your study guide. Now attack every question on those papers and master the answers and you are already on your way to getting an ‘A’.

    How do I know?

Well, here’s a secret. Most lecturers are LAZY. Yes I said it!

… And they’ll repeat questions after questions every year. They may not word them the same but after you have master those past papers, you’ll notice there wont be much difference at all.

Tip #2 – Go Beyond Your Lectures

What I mean is that you need to read a lot about your subject matter. Don’t just focus on what your lecturers give you. You want to be reading every book you can come across pertaining your subject matter. This will give you more insights to the topic and different books explains some things different.

This is especially important if it is a difficult subject matter. One book may present the idea one way while another present the matter a completely different way. This one tip allowed me to have quite a lot of ‘ah ha’ moments in college and I bet it will do for you as well.

Pretty soon you’ll be in front of the class explaining things that other students have no idea about!

Aside from the two tips listed above, a few other things you want to pay attention to is being early at class and also start studying a topic inside out from the moment you receive the lecture. The mistake I made in my first semester was to wait until a week before exams to start studying. That did not work as I could only cram so much and no more into my little brain in such a short period of time.

I hope you found the above tips helpful and put them to use to boost your grades. Good luck!
